Proposals for Alveston Hill scheme revised in response to public feedback

In response to public feedback, the project team and designers working on the pedestrian and cycling improvements in Alveston Hill have decided to adjust the proposals for the junction between Down Road and Alveston Hill. This will mean that:

  • The left turn exit lane from Down Road onto Alveston Hill will be kept.
  • The parallel crossing on Down Road junction will be relocated four metres away from the mouth of the junction.
  • The bus shelter will be kept in its current location.

The project team is grateful for the comments from local people, which have helped deliver improvements to the scheme. Revised drawings for the scheme and the full design response document, which details the Council’s feedback on other suggestions made through the consultation are available on this webpage

In the summer, the Full Business Case will be submitted to the West of England Combined Authority who are funding these improvements. They will then make the final decision about whether the scheme should proceed.

A38 scheme

The project team working on the A38 scheme continue to work with designers and engineers to consider feedback provided through the consultation. Similar documents will be published on this site when this work is complete.
